Advocacy Plan
We, SLP students at CSUSM, endorse the Freedom To Invest In Tomorrow's Workforce Act, aiming to expand 529 plans for essential educational costs. Currently excluding crucial expenses, this bill would ease financial strains and foster diversity within the field. As members of NSSLHA at CSUSM, we urge your support to enhance accessibility to education and skills and we took a stance. CSUSM NSSLHA is calls on Senator Braun and Senator AMY Klobuchar.

Thursday, October 12th @ 4:30pm there will be TWO guest speakers that recently finished grad school and their clinical fellowship year! Come with any questions you might have about grad school, clinical fellowship, working in the school setting, etc. This event will be ONLINE and open to everyone! Saturday, October 14th @ 10am CSUSM's NSSLHA will be participating in our own local Walk for Apraxia event!! If you have not registered for our team, please do so here after creating your account. Cindy Contreras from Cohort 7 joined Bob Mckinney in Sacramento for the legislative advocacy day.
Cindy led the discussion in Escondido Assemblywoman Marie Waldron's office, and she did a wonderful job outlining the scope of practice of SLPs and the value CSUSM's program brings to the community and the state. Great job Cindy!
